A solid concrete floor is the best surface to anchor to, and concrete anchor bolts through the rack's base holes give the most secure result. The process, in broad strokes: position the rack exactly where you want it, mark the base holes, drill into the concrete with a hammer drill and the correct masonry bit to the depth the anchors require, insert the anchors, and tighten them down through the feet. Use hardware rated for the job, and follow both the anchor instructions and the rack manual on hole size and torque. No-drill ways to stabilize a rack

- Load the base. Stacking plates on a rack's weight-storage posts or base lowers its center of gravity and adds mass — one of the most effective no-drill fixes.
- Add friction. Standing the rack on a dense rubber mat increases grip on the floor so it slides less, and protects the floor too.
- Use base attachments. Some racks offer weight-holder or base add-ons designed to boost stability without bolting.
- Respect the rating. On a two-post stand, staying within its load rating and avoiding aggressive kipping pull-ups keeps the forces trying to move it in check.
Wall-mounted racks anchor differently
A folding wall-mounted rack like the Mikolo is a different case entirely: it bolts into wall studs, not the floor, and that anchoring is mandatory. Its safety depends completely on being fixed to solid wall framing, so find the studs, use the specified hardware, and follow the manual to the letter. Re-checking stability over time
Anchoring a rack is not quite a set-and-forget job. Over months of loading, unracking, and pull-ups, bolts can work slightly loose and a rack that felt rock-solid on day one can develop a small rock or rattle. Make a habit of a quick check — every few weeks, or whenever you notice any new movement — that the anchor bolts, the base feet, and the attachment pins are all still snug. A wrench and two minutes is all it takes, and catching a loose bolt early keeps the rack doing its one critical job: not moving when you are under load.
Pay attention to what your rack tells you mid-session, too. A new creak, a foot that lifts slightly when you rack a bar, or a shift during a hard pull-up are all signs to stop and re-check before the next set rather than after.
